Warrington Wolves fullback Matty Russell has been forced to return to the UK earlier than the rest of the squad, after sustaining an injury during their warm-weather training camp.
The Wolves are currently in Tenerife in preparation for the new season, but they will spend their final few days there without Russell, who has suffered a trauma to his mouth in training.
The injury required what the Wolves have described as “specialist intervention”, meaning he had to return home early to be certain he will be fit for the season kicking off.
The club however, said that on the team’s return it is likely the Scotland international will rejoin training.
