Mossop could feature for Wigan in pre-season

Wigan Warriors forward Lee Mossop has confirmed he could make his ‘second debut’ for the club in a pre-season friendly, as he steps up his rehab from shoulder surgery.

Mossop’s sole season in the NRL with Parramatta ended in disappointment, after he was booked in for the surgery after just three games for the Eels in 2014.

However, now back with the Warriors for 2015, Mossop told the Wigan Evening Post that he’s gone through his full contact training with the club, and is now targeting a friendly before the season begins against Widnes early next month.

“I ticked that box the other day when we did full contact in training, and everything felt good,” Mossop said.

“The more I do it, the more it will put away any doubts in my head – that’s the final hurdle.

“Rehab has gone really well, our physio is really happy. I just need to be cleverer with it this time, but hopefully I get one pre-season game in.”
