Featherstone expecting bumper crowd for Bulls clash

Featherstone Rovers are on course for a bumper crowd on Sunday with pre-sales for the match against West Yorkshire rivals Bradford Bulls already over 2,000, the club have confirmed.

With a large contingent expected to travel from Bradford for the Kingstone Press Championship tie, combined with two new stands open to spectators for the first time, the club have reported a surge in ticket sales for what will be the first match at home this season.

The club’s original home opener against Hunslet had to be moved to Wakefield, due to Featherstone’s Big Fellas Stadium being unable to host the match.

Featherstone Rovers Chief Executive Pat Cluskey said: “We have been encouraged by pre-sales for the game but want to make it clear that you can pay on the gate on Sunday.

“We will be selling tickets until 12 noon on Saturday and we would advise supporters to get a ticket if possible to allow quicker entry through the turnstiles. With hospitality sold out for a number of weeks and significant media interest in the game it would be great to see a healthy crowd to see the start of the new rugby league era at the Big Fellas Stadium for the first time where every minute matters.”
