Marwan Koukash believes that Rangi Chase’s moment of magic from the weekend will hopefully influence future generations in playing the game around the world.
The clip of Chase outrageously assisting a Josh Griffin try during the Red Devils’ win over Hull FC at the weekend has since gone viral online, and Koukash believes young Rugby League fans around the world will have been inspired by Chase’s skill.
He also insists that by creating role models, the game can become a much bigger force than it is now.
Koukash said in his weekly MEN column: “Youngsters will have hopefully watched Rangi’s moment of magic and gone out in the playground the following day and told their mates: ‘‘I’m being Rangi Chase”.
“This is how we can best promote Rugby League’s special qualities.
“We have to have role models and superstar players youngsters want to emulate. They are the next generation of player and supporter.
“This is how we become strong as a major sport.”
