Castleford lose injured duo for Easter

Castleford Tigers head coach Daryl Powell has said that they will be without injured stars Mike McMeeken and Junior Moors for the duration of the Easter period due to injury.

The Tigers, who host Leeds live on television tomorrow before a trip to Warrington on Monday afternoon, will welcome back the likes of Luke Dorn (injury) and Nathan Massey and Matt Cook (suspensions) for the match against the Rhinos.

However, they will be without new recruits McMeeken (hamstring) and Moors (knee), after they picked up injuries that have ruled them out of the traditionally hectic period.

“We have got a couple of question marks,” Powell said. “Mike McMeeken injured his hamstring in training and Junior Moors is a doubt for Easter.

“He’s got a stress fracture in his knee, which is not as bad as it sounds, but still it’s likely to need him to be off his feet for the Easter period.”

However, there was good news about two of the club’s longer term injury victims, Frankie Mariano and Lee Jewitt.

“Frankie Mariano will be available over the Easter period and it’s good to get him back,” he said.

“Lee Jewitt will be available for the Hull KR game and we’ll see how he goes in training.”
