Huddersfield Giants have taken Hull KR forward Jordan Cox on a one-month loan deal with immediate effect.
The 22-year-old prop or backrower comes into contention by Giants coach Paul Anderson for Sunday’s game against St Helens at the John Smith’s Stadium after Cox met and trained with his new team-mates today (Wednesday).
Giants Managing Director Richard Thewlis said: ”We have a good relationship with the people at Hull KR and with us having lost a couple to injury and suspension, and they being relatively healthy after the Easter double header, it’s a good opportunity for us to bring Jordan in. He is a player we have looked at in the past, which Hull KR are aware of, and it maybe that we can offer him some game time sooner than they at this moment in time. It’ll be nice to see fresh face at training for us and a new environment for Jordan can only be beneficial at this time in his development.”
Head coach Anderson said: “He’s a rather large human being who can play on the edge and in the middle. He will add a bit more variety to our squad and a bit of freshness. He’s come on an initial month’s loan and he’s got a month to impress. We’ve always talked about him, he’s got some good Super League experience and he’s caused us some problems every time we’ve played against him. Those are the players that you like.”
