Both teams will be desperately playing for win, says Heremaia

Widnes Vikings star Aaron Heremaia admits that both the Vikings and former club Hull FC will be “desperately” trying to win tonight to haul themselves away from trouble at the bottom of Super League.

Heremaia’s Widnes side are third bottom following the opening nine games of the season, and travel to Hull in a bid to inflict more misery on the second bottom Black and Whites live on Sky.

And Heremaia, who left the KC Stadium to head for Widnes this year, says that the Vikings are determined to get their season back on track following a disappointing defeat to Catalans on Easter Monday.

He told the club’s official website: “I think tonight you will see two teams desperately playing for the win. I think we are both in a similar situation in the table.

“Obviously Hull had a good win against St Helens at the weekend so they will be looking for two in a row. We had a loss in France so we want to get our season back on track.

“I enjoyed my time in Hull and am looking forward to playing at the KC Stadium. I am fully committed to the Vikings though now and love playing well with the Widnes boys, so I will be doing my best to help us get the win.”
