Salford Red Devils have revealed that the club have officially parted company with Head of Youth Development Alan Hunte with immediate effect.
The club say Hunte’s deal was due to expire at the end of the current season, but both parties have now agreed to part ways with mutual consent.
Former player Martin Gleeson will oversee the role before Salford make an appointment on a full-time basis in the future.
Red Devils’ CEO Martin Vickers said: “It goes without saying the club would like to place on record its thanks for his tireless efforts over the last 13 years. He leaves Salford with his head held high after unearthing gems such as Theo Fages and Niall Evalds to name but two.
“After such a long period in charge the club felt it was time to look at a fresh approach in the Academy set-up. In the immediate term Martin Gleeson will head up proceedings as we take an appropriate amount of time to evaluate our next move at this level.”
