Gore and Hulme to leave Vikings

Widnes Vikings have announced the impending departure of Grant Gore and Declan Hulme at the end of the 2015 season, and Widnes coach Denis Betts has paid tribute to both players.

“I would like thank both Grant and Dec for their efforts in the Widnes Vikings jersey,” said Betts.

“It has been a pleasure working with them both. I wish them all the very best for the future.”

Gore is currently considering his options to stay in Rugby League next season.

“I have loved every minute playing for the Vikings,” he said.

“As a kid all I wanted to do was play Super League. My time at the Vikings has allowed me to achieve that goal. While things have not worked out as much as I would have liked and I am not going to play for the Vikings for the rest of my career, I am grateful to everyone at the club for the opportunities I have been given.

“Having had such a great experience at Widnes Vikings I will be a supporter of the club in the future and I really hope to see the club challenging at the top.”

Hulme is expecting to have a new club to join from next season.

“I am grateful for my time at the club,” said Hulme.

“I understand that I need a change and more game time to develop my game further. I hope to have next year sorted in the coming weeks.”
