Cunningham confirms Saints have snapped up Quinlan

St Helens coach Keiron Cunningham has confirmed the club have agreed a deal for Australian fullback Adam Quinlan to join the club.

With Shannon McDonnell and Jonny Lomax out for the season and Paul Wellens being forced into retirement last week, Cunningham has acted to shore up the gap at fullback with the signature of Quinlan.

The youngster joins from Parramatta Eels, and should be here in time for the Saints’ game against Huddersfield next weekend!

“We’re just awaiting visas so we’re very hopeful he should be here within a week’s time,” said Cunningham.

“We’re not going to see him for this Leeds game but we might have a shot of doing something for next week –fingers crossed.

“He’s definitely going to be a Saints favourite. We originally had a crack at Adam before we made a decision on Shannon.”

“He’s a very talented player. A very natural fullback
like Jonny Lomax,”
