Leigh make complaint about UK Anti-Doping Agency

Leigh Centurions have revealed that they have made an official complaint against the UK’s Anti-Doping Agency after an incident involving forward Sam Barlow.

The Championship league leaders say that Barlow was visited by a drugs tester on Saturday evening, but Barlow later called the police after claiming the tester had been “acting suspiciously” outside his house.

“As a club we have raised a formal complaint against one of the testers at UKAD following an incident with one of our players Sam Barlow last weekend,” a Leigh statement reads.

“Sam telephoned the police himself after the tester was acting suspiciously outside his house.

“No further action was taken by the police on their arrival at the scene, but we made contact with the RFL over the matter that evening and then registered a complaint with UKAD through our solicitors on Monday.”

“We’re aware of an incident and there is an investigation on-going,” said a UKAD spokesman.

“Until that has taken place we will not comment further.”
