Wane keen to put record straight tonight against Warrington

Wigan Warriors coach Shaun Wane has revealed he’s keen to set the record straight tonight against Warrington after their defeat to the Wolves seven weeks ago in the regular season.

The Warriors will strengthen their grip on second place with a win tonight after St Helens’ loss to Huddersfield on Thursday night, but after a 17-6 loss at the Halliwell Jones Stadium at the beginning of last month, Wane is keen to correct what he described as a “sore point”.

“They absolutely butchered us and that’s a sore point for me,” Wane said. “We weren’t physical enough and they out-enthused us.”

Wane admits that Warrington’s form is not good at the moment, but they will still have to be on their guard on the night.

“We’ve got to make sure that doesn’t happen again. Their form is not the greatest but they’re a very good team and they have a lot of individual players who can play well at any given time.”
