Retiring Wigan Warriors full-back Matty Bowen has been honoured by the club at their 2015 awards ceremony, after the Warriors made him a life member of the club.
Bowen has impressed during his two years at the club but failed to win any silverware, and will now head home to his native Australia as Wigan prepare to welcome back Sam Tomkins.
John Bateman took the accolade of Player of the Year for Wigan with almost 80% of the vote. He also won the Players’ Player award, which was decided by the First Team players.
Bateman joined the Warriors in 2015 from Bradford Bulls and has played 60 games in two seasons at the club. Bateman has played in the second-row and at centre this season, both to great effect.
George Williams was named Young Player of the Year following a fine season. Handed the number six shirt after the departure of Blake Green, Williams has consistently performed on the biggest stage. A product of the Wigan Warriors Academy, Williams was named Super League Young Player of the Year last week and will join Bateman in the England squad.
