Halifax RLFC head coach Richard Marshall believes sides will be more determined than ever to win at The Shay this year, but knows his team are ready for the fight.
Following a successful campaign in which they finished in the top four of the Championship and sixth in the Qualifiers, Fax are looking to kick on as they continue their progress under the Championship coach of the year.
Their 2015 performance will no doubt be used as an extra incentive for their Championship rivals next season, and Marshall knows his side must continue to play with the swagger that brought them so much success in the previous campaign.
“We can look at it one of two ways,” said Marshall.
“We can be wary, frightened and reserved about how you approach the games, or we can address it with confidence after our performances last year and have self-respect.
“We have expectations on ourselves, we expect to perform well, expect to win games and expect to be finishing near the top of the table. Even if we hadn’t finished as we did last year we’d still hold that expectation, but it’s all about how you deal with it.
“There will be some added incentive for teams coming to The Shay this year as a result of last season and we’re ready for that.”
