Sheffield Eagles have made a whopping ten singings in the off-season, with Scott Wheeldon, Matt James and Ben Blackmore amongst their new recruits.
However head coach Mark Aston has picked out young centre George Tyson as the one to watch after impressing at the start of pre-season.
Tyson was one of the first signings announced in the off-season alongside former Oldham team mate Adam Neal. He was one of the standout performers in League One last year, eventually being nominated for the competition’s Player of the Year award after starring in Oldham’s promotion campaign.
And Aston has been very impressed by the 22-year-old.
“He’s got things in his game that everybody in Rugby League is looking for,” said Aston.
“The thing with George is that he is quick, dynamic and explosive, we’re glad to have him with us.
“He plays at centre but he could play anywhere. He’s got a will and a want to win which is something you want in everyone. I’d tip him as someone to watch out for this year and also in the future.”
