Sheffield bring Fax down to earth

Sheffield moved to the top of the Championship following a 26-6 victory over Halifax.

Four tries in 14 second-half minutes helped the Eagles to victory, despite being on the back foot throughout the opening period.

Former Fax winger Rob Worrincy scored two tries for Mark Aston’s men, with Menzie Yere, Cory Aston and Elliot Michella also got on the scoresheet.

As for Halifax, it was a case of what could have been after blowing numerous gilt-edge chances in the first-half. Will Sharp’s try gave them hope at 20-6, but it proved to be a consolation.
