St Helens half-back Luke Walsh has admitted that their loss to Salford last Thursday was “embarrassing” – and says that the whole squad are motivated for Friday’s World Club Series showdown with Sydney Roosters.
The Saints were hammered 44-10 at the AJ Bell Stadium last Thursday, and Walsh believes that the group are ready to put a few wrongs right this Friday at Langtree Park.
He says that they come into this game on the back of one of the best training sessions he’s known at the club, and that they’re all motivated to put the Red Devils defeat behind them.
“I’m really excited about our game and the series as a whole as well. I’m looking forward to being part of it,” he said.
“We’ve been really ripping into training this week.
“On Monday, we came back in and had probably one of the best training sessions I’ve ever been involved with at Saints.
“We’re all feeling motivated, especially after the Salford game, which was pretty embarrassing on our part, and I personally can’t wait to get started on Friday night.”
