Eorl Crabtree is targeting Huddersfield’s clash with Leeds Rhinos next month as his return date.
The forward missed last week’s defeat to Wigan after undergoing groin surgery, and is set to miss the next three weeks.
That would mean his return would come against the Rhinos, a match he is already relishing.
“I’ve had the groin problem since around the middle of last season, but we’d been able to manage it pretty well until the start of this season,” Crabtree told the Huddersfield Examiner.
“But I must have done some extra damage to it in the Catalans trial game and it got even worse for the Saints opener.
“I knew then something needed to be done and my surgeon told me an operation was the only solution.
“That obviously meant missing the Wigan game and knowing I won’t be available for the Widnes home game next Sunday.
“But I am looking back to being available for them Leeds game. Apart from the groin injury, my body feels really well at the moment.
“So, all being well, I’ll be able to get straight back into it at Headingley.”
