Hull FC winger Curtis Naughton has agreed a new two-year contract extension, keeping him at the club until the end of 2018.
The 21-year-old utility back was in the last year of his original deal with the Black and Whites, having joined from Sydney Roosters in 2015
The former Bradford Bulls player has had a promising start to his Super League career, scoring ten tries in 14 appearances for the senior side including a hat-trick against Castleford Tigers in last year’s Challenge Cup.
Naughton made his first Super League appearance of the season last Friday, scoring against Wakefield Wildcats.
Hull FC head coach Lee Radford said: “I’m really pleased. I think he has a great long-term future at the club.
“There was interest in him from elsewhere but the fact he wanted to stay is a credit to the group and a credit to Hull FC.
“We want to find him a starting spot and fulfil his potential. He has a good strike rate and can cover the outside backs, either at full-back or on the wing.”
Radford added: “He’s still very young and he has a lot of progression left in his game.”
Naughton said: “I had a good end to last season and was coming to the end of my contract so I’m really happy to be staying at the club.
“I love been here so when Lee and Motu [Tony] said they wanted me to stay for at least the next few years I was delighted.
“My main focus now is cementing a place in the side and playing first-grade regularly.”
