Three in, three out for Wigan against Warrington

Wigan Warriors have made three changes to their squad for Friday’s clash against Warrington – and although they’re boosted by the returns of Liam Farrell and Willie Isa, two other stars miss out.

Anthony Gelling is injured, whilst John Bateman is out with concussion having picked up a head knock in Monday’s win against Hull KR.

The other change sees Luke Waterworth replaced by Jack Higginson.

“It’s good to have Liam Farrell and Willie Isa back but a blow to lose Anthony Gelling and John Bateman,” said Warriors coach Shaun Wane.

“We were hopeful of having Ben Flower (hamstring) back for this game but that isn’t the case. We’ll also have to complete a couple of late fitness tests with a few of the players that are in the squad.

“We’re under the pump and it seems that every time we get a player back we lose another but that’s just how it’s going for us at the minute. We’ll go with what we’ve got and go out there determined to put in a good performance.”

Wigan Warriors 19-man-squad: Joe Bretherton, Greg Burke, Josh Charnley, Tony Clubb, Liam Farrell, Oliver Gildart, Nick Gregson, Jack Higginson, Willie Isa, Dom Manfredi, Lee Mossop, Sean O’Loughlin, Sam Powell, Dan Sarginson, Matty Smith, Ryan Sutton, Taulima Tautai, Lewis Tierney, Joel Tomkins.
