St Helens winger Tommy Makinson has been ruled out for the season with an ACL injury.
The English winger, 24, sustained the injury in victory over Widnes on Monday.
“We’re all gutted for Tommy but he is one of the most professional players we have and will be dedicated to his rehab,” Keiron Cunningham said. “We will miss his contribution to our side but this gives an opportunity for another player in the squad to come through and seize his chance.
“Our squad is experienced at dealing with long term injuries and we will look to it once more.
“In the meantime, we wish Tommy all the best.”
He joins Castleford’s Michael Shenton and Hull KR’s Ryan Shaw in spending the rest of the season 0n the sidelines with the same injury.
