The headline news for St Helens this weekend is the return of Jonny Lomax, with TotalRL understanding he WILL play for the Saints tonight against Leeds Rhinos, his first appearance at first team level in over a year. And while most of the spotlight will be on the fullback – Shannon McDonnell could move to the wing – the likes of Mark Percival and Joe Greenwood may well also return for the hosts, which will be a major boost as they face a potentially rejuvenated Leeds Rhinos side at Langtree Park.
Life without Chris Sandow continues for Warrington
Warrington have certainly found the going tough without the talismanic Chris Sandow in recent weeks. Their loss to Huddersfield last weekend was bad enough, but when you factor in that they didn’t score a single point, it underlines how badly they’re missing their scrum-half. The onus will be on the likes of Kurt Gidley and Stefan Ratchford to deliver for the Wolves at Widnes on Friday night – can they move back to the Super League summit with a win?
Will Salford’s old boys haunt the Red Devils in Perpignan?
Life will no doubt be tough going for Salford in Perpignan on Saturday evening, as they travel to the Stade Gilbert Brutus to face a white-hot Catalans Dragons side. And in that star-studded Dragons line-up is two former Salford players who will be looking to inflict misery on their old side. Richie Myler has been impressive since joining the club, but it is perhaps Jodie Broughton who will be the one to watch out for on the wing – he is in magnificent form.

Teams have generally been pretty good at providing responses in Super League this year after disappointing performances – but with so many injuries in their camp, how do Hull KR shuffle the pack accordingly to get a result at Castleford? They’re down to the bare bones in terms of players, reflected by the appearances of the likes of some of their youngsters last week against Oldham. The Robins will have to hope a difficult week in training will be the catalyst for victory, as too many team changes are not likely from James Webster.
Miller time for Wakefield against Hull?
Wakefield have been in remarkable form in recent weeks, and although their whole team has been on form, it’s Jacob Miller at stand-off who is catching the eye. The former Hull FC man takes on his old side this Sunday, with the Wildcats looking to inflict a second straight defeat on Lee Radford’s side following their loss to Leeds last week. If Wakey win, Miller will have no doubt been pivotal.
