Warrington hooker Daryl Clark has admitted he is in a better state of mind following an indifferent opening year to his Wolves career.
Clark failed to replicate the form that earned him a high-profile move from Castleford to Warrington as the Wolves also endured a frustrating 2015 season.
Although they suffered a shock defeat to Huddersfield last week, Warrington remain top of Super League, with their early-season results coinciding with Clark’s improving performances.
But the 2014 Man of Steel admitted that adapting to life at the Halliwell Jones Stadium proved to be difficult.
“It was a bit of a disappointment last year,” he conceded.
“It was a new environment, a different team and I had to move away from home, so I think all of that might have had an effect on me. But I feel a lot better this year and more settled and I’m playing some better rugby and getting back some good form.
“To start well this year as a team and individually is pretty good and I’m happy with where I’m at.”
Despite his impressive displays, the 23-year-old still believes he is short of replicating the performances that won him the Man of Steel award.
“My performances have been okay this year but I know I’m still quite a bit away from what I can do. Hopefully I can just keep on improving week on week and sooner rather than later you will see more of those performances from that year at Castleford.”
