Wigan Warriors coach Shaun Wane has admitted that he’s looking forward to seeing his young star John Bateman clash with fellow exciting talent Ben Currie when they travel to Warrington on Thursday.
Bateman and Currie have been two of the standout talents in Super League so far this season – with Bateman captaining the Warriors for the first time last weekend in the absence of a raft of senior stars.
And Wane told Wigan Today that he’s an admirer of both players, and both Bateman and Currie are the “form players” in the competition at this moment in time.
“They are definitely two of the best young players in our game,” he said.
“I’m a big Ben Currie fan, he is a great talent, he’s playing really well and John is killing it.
“There’s talent across the line-ups but those are two are the form players in Super League. It will be a great match-up.”
