Hull FC youngster joins Featherstone

Featherstone Rovers have boosted their injury-hit squad with the signing of young stand-off Jordan Abdull on a one-month loan deal.

The 20-year-old, who has made two Super League appearances for the Airlie Birds this season, is expected to feature for Featherstone when they take on Oldham at the weekend.

Rovers are currently going through a major injury crisis, with their current stand-off Danny Craven expected to spend some time on the sidelines after suffering a serious concussion.

However, Abdull is now likely to fill that void, and Hull head coach Lee Radford is pleased that the youngster will get a chance to impress in the second-tier.

“The loan move presents an opportunity for Jordan to play at a high standard under a coach (Jon Sharp) who I have personally played for, who will give him good guidance.

“Jordan stepped up for us twice this year and did well. He didn’t have much game time prior to making his first-team appearances which won’t have helped him.

“Now he has the chance to go and play consistently at a good level and find some form.”
