Betway have named Halifax as the non-Super League team most likely to progress furthest in the Challenge Cup.
The Championship’s fourth-placed side have been priced at 6-1 to advance further than any of the other remaining teams outside the top flight ahead of their clash with faltering Widnes.
Halifax have shown up well on the two occasions they have played Widnes in the last nine months; a late rally saw Widnes claw their way past Fax 14-0 in the Qualifiers while a strong Vikings side could only draw with Richard Marshall’s men in pre-season earlier this year.
With Fax on a three-game winning streak and Widnes without a win in six Super League games, many believe the game at The Shay is the one most likely to provide an upset.
Batley are 16-1 on to do better than the rest of their Kingstone Press League counterparts ahead of their match with Catalans.
However, the bookies are almost certain that none of the five remaining non-Super League teams will make the quarter-finals, with odds of 1/10 being offered on all five being knocked out.
