A London Broncos academy player is set to serve a ban of at least eight games after being charged with Grade F unacceptable behaviour.
Josh Raqio has been charged following an incident in the 16th minute of a game between the academy teams of London and Catalans Dragons.
The charge handed to Raqio is described on The RFL website. It reads: “Uses offensive or obscene language – Verbal abuse based on race, colour, religion, gender, sexual preference, disability, national or ethnic origin or any other form of Unacceptable Behaviour or Language Grade.”
The recommended suspension if found guilty is a minimum of eight matches, but the suspension could be more severe should the disciplinary committee decide it warrants a stronger suspension.
Catalans moved to the top of the Academy league following a 42-18 victory over the Broncos, who have lost their opening seven matches.
