Warrington Wolves coach Tony Smith believes tonight’s opponents Leeds are “dangerous” and “desperate” as they bid to drag themselves up from the bottom of the table.
Smith’s Wolves aim to move level on points with both Hull and Wigan at the Super League summit with a win, following a run of form which has seen them surrender their position at the top.
And ahead of the game, Smith told the Warrington Guardian that he’s highly wary of a wounded Leeds, and has called on his side to exploit any of the weaknesses in the Rhinos’ game at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.
“It’s our home ground and we’re proud to play there but we’re up against a dangerous team at the moment, dangerous and desperate,” he said.
“They’ve still got a lot of good players and they’ll be desperate to try and keep themselves in with a chance of getting into the top 8.”
“They’re capable of hurting any team from anywhere on the park so we’ll show them a healthy respect at the same time as making sure that we’re throwing some ammunition at them as well.
“They’ve got their own frailties at the moment so we’ll make sure we try and exploit some of those.”
