Bradford coach Rohan Smith has said he is not worrying about a congested fixture schedule ahead of Sunday’s huge Championship showdown with Batley.
The Bulls will be playing their third game in seven days after picking up wins against Workington last weekend and Oldham in midweek.
Smith said: “They are just the cards we’ve been dealt. We’re looking ahead not back, we’ve just got one game to worry about on Sunday.
“Batley are a good team who are well coached and full of confidence so we’re going to have to be on our toes and perform well to get the result we’re looking for. We haven’t rotated, not intentionally, but we’ve been forced to make some changes based on who’s been fit and healthy. On Sunday we’ll pick our fittest, healthiest team.”
Batley won 24-10 at Sheffield Eagles to make it five successive wins in the league. Coach John Kear said: “It demonstrates the consistency of performance that we’ve had throughout the year. There have only been two or three that I can think of that I’ve come away from the game thinking, ‘I’m disappointed at what we’ve dished up’.
“It’s an indication of the players’ consistency of preparation and performance. There’s been an elevation of the preparation in every way. I feel the players have taken more responsibility for individual and group preparation and it has shown in how we are playing.
“I don’t buy into the view that Bradford will be fatigued. They will have rotated the squad and will be ready to play on Sunday just as we will. They’ve got a great fan base, we’re a pretty good team and I think some fare will be served up at the weekend.”
