GOSSIP: St Helens in the hunt for NRL star Josh Hoffman

Are St Helens about to land a huge transfer coup for 2017 with the signing of NRL star Josh Hoffman?

Reports in Australia suggest that the 28-year-old centre has been sounded out for a move to the Saints, according to the player’s agent.

His agent, Paul Hogan, said recently that the player has been informed he won’t be staying at Gold Coast Titans in 2017, sparking speculation about his future.

However, despite the link to St Helens, Hogan has said that Hoffman is keen to remain in the NRL and stay in Australia.

“Josh is very philosophical about it,” Hogan told the Brisbane Courier-Mail. “He rolls with the punches, he is a professional footballer and has no issues towards the Titans. He understands how the game works these days.

“Obviously it’s a little disappointing because Josh is really happy at the Titans.

“St Helens have contacted me and were super keen on Josh, but he’s keen to remain in Australia. England might be attractive down the track but it’s a big move at this stage of Josh’s career.”
