Frank-Paul Nuuausala is determined not to get sin-binned again… because he got told off by his wife!
The Wrecking Ball makes his Wigan return in Friday’s Super 8s opener against Castleford after missing the Challenge Cup semi-final due to suspension. Nuuausala was handed a one-game suspension after being found guilty of punching Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook, who Nuuausala had an eye-catching tussle with throughout Wigan’s defeat to St Helens in the final round of the regular Super League season.
And although the former Canberra forward has no issue with getting stuck in, he is keen to avoid getting on the wrong side of the officials, or risk the wrath of his partner.
“My wife wasn’t happy when I got sin-binned,” he told TotalRL.
“I’ll have to not do anything stupid again, she gave me a right handful when I spoke to her on the phone after the game.”
The Kiwi international is now keen to see his side bounce back following last week’s Challenge Cup semi-final defeat to Hull FC, and believes the next seven weeks gives them the opportunity to hit their top form before the semi-finals.
“I reckon it’s an important game for us,” he said.
“Just to allow us to get our mojo back and our confidence back after last week. Our defence has been awesome, it’s just our attack that’s been letting us down, so we’ve been working hard on that to make sure it is on the same level as our defence. We need to put teams under the pump and get ourselves ready for the semi-finals.
“It will be good to get another match under my belt because I haven’t really played in two months.”
