Luke Gale has expressed his delight at picking up the Albert Goldthorpe Medal for a second time.
Gale became just the second player to win the award in consecutive years after opening up an unassailable lead over Hull FC star Marc Sneyd.
“It’s obviously great to pick up the award for a second time.
Pumped to win the Albert Goldthorpe medal for the second year running. Thanks for the messages. Appreciate it ??

“I think it has been a really good year for the team. There has been a lot of adversity that has been well-documented injury wise and I think we’ve dealt with that well. Hopefully we’ll end the season in style.
“I think Denny makes me look good to be fair, I chuck him the ball and puts the ball down. There’s a real good balance with Dorny at full-back and Jake at centre, then Greg Minikin has stepped in and went well. I really enjoy attacking on that left edge and we’ve scored some points.”
Gale’s teammates have also paid tribute to him on Twitter. Michael Shenton, who Gale took the captaincy from this year after he was ruled out with a season-long injury, congratulated the former Bradford star, while Ben Roberts also paid testament to his fellow halfback.
