Winners – Warrington Wolves
A 30-12 victory over Widnes Vikings not only ensured they would remain top of Super League going into the final two rounds, but they also moved to within one victory of the League Leaders’ Shield after Hull FC’s defeat to Wigan.
The Wolves have responded superbly to their Challenge Cup heartache and look set to bounce back with silverware.
Losers – Huddersfield Giants
It really couldn’t have been a worse week for the Huddersfield Giants.
Not only did they put in an awful first-half performance, that ultimately cost them a crucial victory over Leigh, but their nearest rivals, Salford and Hull Kingston Rovers, also picked up victories.
It now means the Giants are in the Million Pound Game places with two games to play.
Winners – Leigh Centurions
Finally, after a long, long wait. The Centurions are a Super League club.
Their superb victory over Huddersfield, a third on the bounce against Super League opponents, means they are rightful owners of a place in Super League, and it will be exciting to see what they can offer at the top table.
Losers – Whitehaven
The Cumbrian club were consigned to life in League 1 after defeat to Oldham in the Championship Shield.
Despite a brave effort, a 20-18 reverse means they will join Workington in the third-tier next season.
Winners – Oldham
On the other hand, a magnificent season for Oldham has seen them consolidate in the Championship after a long-awaited promotion last year.
After a season of highs and lows, the Roughyeds deserve their place in the second-tier.
Losers – Bradford Bulls
Things were really starting to look up at the Bulls after a string of wins in the Championship Shield.
However, a shock defeat to Workington has raised questions of Rohan Smith’s side in what is perhaps the most humbling defeat since relegation to the Championship.
