Zak Hardaker
Technically the man who has possession of the shirt after last year’s Four Nations; Hardaker has played centre mostly during his time in the NRL with Penrith, but he will be eager to show his worth in his natural position as he bids to impress Bennett to nail down a spot in the England side.
Jonny Lomax
Lomax has been arguably the in-form fullback in Super League in recent months. Since coming back from a serious injury at the start of the season, he has been crucial to the Saints’ run to the Super League play-off semi-finals – and will again be vital in their chances of making Old Trafford.
Jamie Shaul
Shaul has impressed all year in a Hull side still hunting further silverware at Old Trafford next weekend. Dynamic, rapid and ultra-reliable the back, Bennett will have surely taken note of Shaul’s performances in 2016 when considering his fullback; even before the injury to Tomkins.
