He’s a familiar face to many Super League fans after his stints with Salford and Wakefield: and New Zealand fullback Kevin Locke has now been handed a chance to reignite his career in the NRL.
Manly Sea Eagles revealed today (Thursday) that they will give him a chance to play in their trial games early next year as he looks to put his career back on track.
Locke hasn’t played since leaving Wakefield last year, but will now get his opportunity with the Sea Eagles in pre-season as he bids to return to the NRL for the first time since leaving New Zealand Warriors in 2014, when he made the move to Salford.
The Sea Eagles said: “Former New Zealand international Kevin Locke is hoping to play in Manly Warringah’s trial matches in February as he looks to revitalise his NRL career.
“The 27-year-old full-back/winger played 89 matches for the NZ Warriors (2009-14) before playing in the English Super League with Salford Red Devils and Wakefield Trinity.
“He also played 8 Tests for New Zealand from 2011-13.”
