Andrew Henderson has one simple target in mind for London in 2017 – progress.
Following the Broncos’ rejuvenation of sorts in 2016, the club’s head coach believes that the club must ensure they keep taking steps forward next year as they attempt to build on their second-place finish in the Championship.
London were denied a place in the Million Pound Game this year by points difference, much to the frustration of Henderson. However, it did little to overshadow the club’s accomplishments in 2016, having fallen well short of the top four the year previous.
Following a stack of impressive signings ahead of their next promotion push, Henderson is positive that the club can continue making strides towards a Super League return.
“There’s been a lot of good things going on at the club,
“But we’re not stupid, we know 12 months isn’t going to be enough for us to keep building. We just need to be better on the field again. We always look at things with a realistic view. We’re in the Championship, and we know we have to be better than we were last year. We didn’t make the Million Pound Game last year, so we want to do this time.
“From where we were 12 months ago, we’ve improved, and we need to keep doing that step by step. We don’t want to try and deliver stuff that’s unrealistic, but we want to do what we can with the resources we have available to us. If we have success and get some more money into the club, we can then expand what we offer as a club to make sure we get better and grow.
“Everything is about progression for me. We know where we’re at as a club, we’re rebuilding as a team and off the field.”
