Mark Lawn, the former chairman of Bradford City AFC, has confirmed interest in saving Bradford Bulls.
Lawn, along with Julian Rhodes, had twice attempted to purchase the Bulls when they entered administration in 2012 and 2014, although they were unsuccessful.
However, after the club entered administration for a third time in five years on Monday, Lawn told the Telegraph & Argus that he would still be keen to take over the club.
“I would have to have the backing of the fans but I’m a Bradford lad and I don’t want to see any Bradford club go down,” he said.
“You can’t go on not paying players, especially in rugby league when you put your body on the line. How are you going to do that if you can’t pay your mortgage?
“My late wife was a big Bulls fan and I always said if I could get involved and save them, then I would do.”
Lawn sold Bradford City in the summer to a German consortium.
