RFL chief executive Nigel Wood has supported clubs in their battle with players over contracts, saying those attempting to walk away from deals will not be tolerated.
Castleford and Leeds are currently dealing with ongoing issues surrounding the contracts of Denny Solomona and James Segeyaro.
The Tigers are considering legal action after it was confirmed yesterday Solomona had ‘retired’ from Rugby League amid talk of a move to rugby union side Sale.
Meanwhile, Segeyaro, who two months ago signed a contract with Leeds until the end of 2018, has told of his desire to leave the Rhinos due to homesickness.
It follows the sudden exit of Chris Sandow from Warrington, who is alleged to have texted his agent to instruct him to tell Warrington he would not be returning to the club despite being under contract.

It has forced the RFL to respond, with Wood claiming the clubs involved have their full backing.
“The RFL is extremely disappointed to learn that properly contracted Super League players may not be fulfilling the terms of their employment with Super League clubs as agreed. Contracts are two way commitments mutually binding on both parties. The RFL will support its member clubs absolutely to defend their contractual positions and will work with other similarly inclined Governing Bodies to ensure that the unacceptable potential anarchy of lawful contracts simply being walked away from, is not tolerated.”
