NORMANTON KNIGHTS’ victory over Milford Marlins in Saturday’s Division One Promotion Play-off Final at Widnes resolved the composition of the Kingstone Press Cider National Conference League in 2018.
Conference bosses are aiming for four divisions of 12 teams and, subject to the rubber-stamping by existing member clubs of applications by Beverley and Queensbury, and the continued involvement of Blackbrook – who must satisfy the Management Group, early next month, as to their credentials after failing to complete the regular Division One season last time – with the bottom two of Stanley Rangers and Waterhead Warriors having to seek re-election, the sections will now comprise:
PREMIER DIVISION: Egremont Rangers, Hunslet Club Parkside, Kells, Myton Warriors, Normanton Knights, Rochdale Mayfield, Siddal, Thatto Heath Crusaders, Underbank Rangers, Wath Brow Hornets, West Hull, Wigan St Patrick’s.
DIVISION ONE: Bradford Dudley Hill, Featherstone Lions, Ince Rose Bridge, Leigh Miners Rangers, Lock Lane, Milford Marlins, Oulton Raiders, Pilkington Recs, Shaw Cross Sharks, Skirlaugh, Thornhill Trojans, York Acorn.
DIVISION TWO: Askam, Crosfields, Dewsbury Moor Maroons, Drighlington, East Leeds, Hull Dockers, Hunslet Warriors, Leigh East, Saddleworth Rangers, Stanningley, West Bowling, Wigan St Jude’s.
DIVISION THREE: Barrow Island, Beverley, Blackbrook, Clock Face Miners, Dewsbury Celtic, Eastmoor Dragons, Gateshead Storm, Oldham St Anne’s, Queensbury, Salford City Roosters, Stanley Rangers, Waterhead Warriors, Woolston Rovers.
