Ade Gardner joins Warrington as Head of Performance

Ade Gardner will leave St Helens to join Warrington Wolves as their new Head of Performance ahead of the 2019 season.

Gardner scored 173 tries in 289 appearances and was the current Academy Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Saints and Saints CEO Mike Rush was quick to praise Gardner ahead of his departure from the club.

“He’s done a great job here and we’re really sad to see him leave,” said Rush.

“He will be a big loss to our backroom team but we couldn’t stand in his way.

“This is a big opportunity for him and we all wish him the best.”

Meanwhile, Gardner is excited about the opportunity on offer at the Wolves.

“Everything that Warrington offers is really innovative,” said Gardner.

“I can’t speak highly enough of the staff at the club, they are very organised and professional.

“If you want to stay ahead of the curve you have to put that investment into the playing squad and the facilities which they have done.

“Knowing the performance staff has such a good reputation with Jon Clarke outgoing and knowing how much time he’s invested into improving the department I saw this as a really good opportunity for me to progress my career, from being an assistant at Saints coming into a top-notch high-performance environment here at Warrington that rivals anywhere in Super League. It was too much to turn down.
