Flynn completes Bulldogs move

Batley Bulldogs have completed the permanent signing of Nyle Flynn for the 2020 season.
The former Dewsbury and Hunslet utility forward impressed coach Craig Lingard (pictured) during a trial period at the club.
Lingard said: “He certainly hasn’t looked out of place in the games he’s played and the attitude he brings to training is spot on.
“He can cover front and back row, has played Championship rugby with Dewsbury and League One at Hunslet, so he’s not new to the professional game.
“His work-rate is excellent and he’s one of the fittest blokes at the club when we do any kind of test like rowing or running; he’s constantly in the top three.
“Because of that we know we can chuck him on and he will tackle everything that moves and carry the ball a lot, and with the interchanges reducing to eight you need forwards that can do the bigger minutes.”
The Bulldogs are now set to complete permanent deals for two other triallists in Sam Bowring and Dom Horn.
Lingard added: “It’s going to be difficult to get them game time early on, but they’re happy with the situation and are fully aware of where they are in terms of squad positions.
“They both want to keep working hard and wait for an opportunity to come along.
“We’re still looking to try and get some kind of link with a Super League club that would allow them to play in their reserves and hopefully that will happen.”
Lingard was unable to hold a field training session on Tuesday last week because he had ten players on the treatment table, with Johnny Campbell, Tyler Dickinson, Dave Scott, Jo Taira and Niall Walker all ruled out of Sunday’s opener against Featherstone.
