RLWC2021 makes shortlist for Sport Industry Awards

The Rugby League World Cup 2021 has been shortlisted for one of the categories in the prestigious 2021 Sport Industry Awards.

The Sport Industry Awards are an annual celebration of the most innovative practices in the sporting world, covering a number of categories for which sports-related organisations can be shortlisted until the winner is revealed later in the year.

The RLWC2021 team has been shortlisted under the ‘Date & Business Impact Award’,  which is designed to recognise how organisation have applied data to build and/or deliver business opportunities in order to have a major impact on their businesses.

The World Cup team has been shortlisted for the way in which it is “using data to drive ticketing against the odds”. It is one six nominees under this category.

The others are: the NFL, for its “Game Pass International & Personas”; Sport England, for its COVID-19 National Leisure Relief Fund; The Race, for its All-Star Series; UFC fo rits UFC Fight Pass; and Velon for its Audience Data Strategy

The Sport Industry Awards will be revealed on Wednesday 8th September at Evolution in London.
