Sky Sports pundit Sam Tomkins issues warning to Hull KR

SKY SPORTS pundit Sam Tomkins has issued a warning to Hull KR despite their 34-10 derby win over Hull FC last weekend.

Rovers led 28-0 at half-time, but scored just once in the second forty minutes after the Black and Whites hit back with two tries of their own.

But, Tomkins, who retired at the end of the 2023 Super League season after enjoying a stellar spell with Catalans Dragons, has urged caution on Rovers’ form.

Tomkins believes that Willie Peters’ side needs to be more clinical and should have continued their pressure in the second-half like they did in the first.

“What they did in the second-half proves they’re not quite there,” Tomkins said.

“They weren’t clinical enough when they were in front and their kicking game on the last play wasn’t good enough.

“If they came up with that against St Helens or Wigan they would come up with a loss. They have got to be much better than that.

“But they are improving, it’s only round six and it’s a long year.”

That victory was Rovers’ fourth win of the Super League season before thrashing London Broncos on Friday night.
