JOSH JOHNSON believes “competition across the board” will help Rochdale Hornets as they gear up for the new season.
Johnson, who has previously lined up for the likes of Huddersfield Giants, Hull KR and Salford Red Devils, is one of ten new faces at the Hornets for the 2025 campaign.
And with the 30-year-old registering 16 appearances for runaway League One winners Oldham in 2024, he cannot wait to get on the field for the new season.
“The mood is great in camp. Pre-season can be tough, but everyone is ready to get stuck into some games,” Johnson said.
“If you look at our squad, there’s going to be competition across the board, which will be tough for Gary (Thornton, Rochdale head coach).
“When injuries and suspensions kick in though, having strength in depth is massive.
“We look sharp with the ball, which was one of our main strengths last season, and hopefully we can provide more of the same in that department.”
