TOULOUSE OLYMPIQUE are getting creative with their halfbacks after the shock loss of Australian stand-off Ryan Rivett.
The former Cronulla player, 22, has had to return Down Under, leaving a gaping hole in coach Sylvain Houles’ squad.
The Olympians have announced 31-year-old loose-forward Anthony Marion as captain.
But the departure of Rivett raises questions over who will partner scrum-half Jake Shorrocks.
Club director of sport Cedric Garcia said: “Ryan asked for a release for personal reasons, which we granted.
“We are looking for a replacement but we want the right fit. We will not rush in signing someone and for the moment we have solutions from within the squad.”
Clues as to who will step in at six may be found during Saturday’s pre-season run-out at Catalans Dragons.
