HULL KR will again be without both first-choice wingers when they play Salford Red Devils at Magic Weekend.
Neither Tom Davies nor Joe Burgess featured last week as the Robins beat Leeds Rhinos, a match in which Kelepi Tanginoa suffered a head injury which sidelined him for Newcastle.
Davies’ shoulder issue will be rested for another week, while Burgess won’t return from his own head injury just yet.
“The specialist wants to give him one more week,” said Hull KR coach Willie Peters of former Salford man Burgess.
“Tom possibly could have played but we don’t want to do any further damage to it. We want to get him right so he’ll have the week off.”
It means Peta Hiku and Jack Broadbent could continue on the wings for a second match in succession, with forward James Batchelor at centre.
“There’s a crazy stat that James has won every game he’s moved out there (to centre),” said Peters.
“He can do the job because defensively he’s sound and he can do the job in attack.
“I don’t think there are many better utility players in the competition than Jack.
“It’s great to have players like that. They’ve done the job before so it’s easy to put them in a different position and you know they’ll do the job again.”
Peters denied, however, that he would rest any players for Salford, despite a Challenge Cup semi-final against Catalans Dragons in York the following weekend.
He said: “We’ll go with a strong squad – it’s just the two (wingers) I’ve mentioned that won’t play.”
