Warrington Wolves confirm season-ending injury to flying winger Matty Ashton

WARRINGTON WOLVES have confirmed that flying winger Matty Ashton will miss the remainder of the 2025 Super League season.

Ashton has suffered injuries to his MCL (Medial Collateral Ligament) and ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament) which will also see the winger ruled out of the Ashes Test Series against Australia.

The 26-year-old suffered the injuries during Warrington’s Challenge Cup semi-final win over Leigh Leopards on Sunday.

Ashton has been in fine form for the Wolves in 2025, scoring nine tries in nine appearances and was expected to make Shaun Wane’s squad for the autumn.
