Tom Holmes signs for Doncaster following Bradford Bulls exit

TOM HOLMES has signed for Doncaster following his exit from Bradford Bulls.

Holmes has signed a two-year deal with the Championship club after spending three years at Odsal.

The 29-year-old has played in Super League with Castleford Tigers and Huddersfield Giants, as well as making over 100 Championship appearances with Featherstone Rovers, Batley Bulldogs, Sheffield Eagles and Bradford.

And Holmes can’t wait to get started at Doncaster: “When Carl (Hall, CEO) messaged me last month I was really keen to meet with him and Rich (Horne, head coach),” Holmes said.

“After the conversation with them, I couldn’t wait to get it sorted and I’m excited for the next two years to be at Doncaster.

“Hopefully myself and the other signings can add to the existing group. It’s a great group that the club has got the minute but hopefully together we can help push that one step further.

“I’ll be proud to wear the Doncaster shirt, that’s for sure.”

After starting his career with hometown club Castleford, Holmes had spells with Featherstone and Huddersfield before joining Bradford in 2023.

Coach Horne said: “Every time we’ve played against Tom he’s caused us problems and created opportunities.

“When I’ve watched Bradford leading up to our games, he’s had a hand in everything so once I knew he was available, he became one of our top targets.”
