YORK VALKYRIE have welcomed a second Australian halfback into their squad with the signing of Abbey Fuz.
Fellow countrywoman Ellie Williamson recently signed a new two-year deal with the Valkyrie, as did English halfback Liv Gale, giving new head coach Leon Pryce three strong options to work with in the key position.
Fuz, highly rated for her pace and power, has joined from Canterbury Bulldogs, where she featured for the Under 17s in the Lisa Fiaola Cup competition in 2024 before stepping up to the Under 19s squad for the Tarsha Gale Cup competition last season.
“I’m super keen to be able to join the squad this season,” said Fuz, who is the granddaughter of Bulldogs great and 1980 premiership-winner Garry Hughes.
“The club has given me an incredible opportunity, I just can’t wait to get over and get around training and around all the girls.”
