WAKEFIELD TRINITY, like opponents Leeds Rhinos, will field a mix of experienced stars and young talents on Boxing Day.
Five new signings are in line to make their first Wakefield appearances when the West Yorkshire rivals meet at AMT Headingley for the 11.30am kick-off.
That number includes halfback Jack Sinfield, who moved between the two clubs in the off-season.
Will Tate, Kian McGann, Tray Lolesio and Jordan Williams also feature in a 22-strong squad named by Trinity head coach Daryl Powell.
Fans will have to wait longer to see Tyson Smoothy and Jazz Tevaga, while the likes of Max Jowitt, Mason Lino and Matty Storton are held back alongside England duo Tom Johnstone and Mike McMeeken.
Similarly, backs Lachlan Miller, Ryan Hall, Brodie Croft, Harry Newman and Jake Connor and forwards Mikolaj Oledzki, James McDonnell and Kallum Watkins miss out as Brad Arthur runs the rule over some young Rhinos prospects.
Chris Hankinson will captain Leeds from the halves, with new skipper Ash Handley also not involved.
But all three close-season signings – hooker Danny Levi from Canberra Raiders, forward Jeremiah Mata’utia from North Queensland Cowboys and backrower Ethan O’Neill from Leigh Leopards – are included.
